Finish leads the world in dishwasher detergent technology – and it stays at the top with sustained insight-driven innovations, like Finish Quantum, which takes the humble dishwasher tablet to new heights.
The challenge?
The driving force behind Quantum’s incredible performance is three highly active agents which are normally incompatible. The challenge was to combine them in a single product but hold them apart. Working closely with external experts, our Finish team developed an innovative polymer system and processing technique to create another world-first – a dissolvable shell with three chambers that separate each agent until it’s needed.
The solution
Thanks to our partners’ expertise, Quantum releases each powerful ingredient at exactly the right time for maximum clean and ultimate shine – the Diamond standard of dishwashing.

In the fast-moving, intensely competitive Air Care market, our systematic innovations, driven by consumer insight, keep us out in front. Like Air Wick Freshmatic – our automatic spray that gives consumers the constant freshness they love.
The challenge?
We wanted to take this huge success and make it smaller. Working with partners on three continents, we created a little gem, based on solenoid valve technology, which releases tiny, accurate doses of concentrated fragrance in a more portable format.
The solution
Freshmatic Mini is a triumph of miniaturisation. With its boost button, spray setting switch and LED indicator, it delivers the same powerful insight of constant freshness, but more discreetly. It’s proved a massive success, which we couldn’t have achieved without our partners in electronics, design, engineering and manufacturing.

Women want to remove unwanted hair quickly, with the minimum fuss, mess . . . and smell. Veet 3 Minute hair removal cream is all it takes to banish hair in a flash. Because Veet dissolves hair rather than cuts it, unwanted hair takes longer to grow back than with shaving and without that stubbly feel.
The challenge?
As the cream dissolves the hair, its active ingredients can produce a slightly unpleasant smell.
The solution
Our Veet team worked closely with several external partners to design a special formulation system that significantly reduces the odour. Thanks to their knowledge and input, Veet delivers impeccable results with the lowest odour ever.
